I am pleased to share my formal response to the Motor Trade Association (MTA) SA/NT Election Blueprint. The MTA has outlined several priorities ahead of the 2026 State Election, highlighting the pressures facing South Australia’s automotive sector - including workforce shortages, evolving training needs, rising operational costs, and the transition to new vehicle technologies.
In response, I acknowledge the critical role that automotive businesses, apprentices, and skilled technicians play in keeping our state moving.
The MTA’s priorities strongly align with my commitment to building a Better Community, Safer Society, Stronger Economy. Their focus on high‑quality training, workforce development, and support for small business reflects our shared belief that opportunity, safety, and economic resilience must grow hand‑in‑hand. By improving pathways for young people, boosting skills in emerging technologies, and strengthening local industry capability, we help create jobs, promote safer standards, and contribute to a resilient statewide economy.
As South Australia approaches the 2026 State Election, I remain committed to responding constructively to industry voices like the MTA. Supporting a future‑ready automotive sector benefits every community and contributes to a stronger, safer, and more prosperous South Australia.
